R.E.S.E.T. – 1.2.2022

R – REVIEW

Review is defined as to look over, examine or study someone or something again.

Psalm 139:23-24

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.                                               See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Proverbs 23:7

For as man thinks in his heart, so is he…….

E – ETERNAL

Eternally existing forever; without end or beginning; having no beginning and no end; continuing without interruption.

In a human life, all things have a definite end………..…

–  9 months of pregnancy before a child is born………..…

– on average a student goes through 12-17 years of schooling before they graduate……..

– Careers typically last 40 years before retirement.

– human life expectancy is about 87 years.  In each case there is always a definite ending.

All things on earth as we know will eventually come to an end. But how long is eternity?

2 Peter 3:8

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

Psalm 90:4

For a thousand years in Your eyes are like yesterday when it passes by, or like the hours of the night.

If you live in God’s time 18.250.000 years equals 50 years on earth –

50 x 365 x 1000 = 18.250.000 years.

Now we understand somewhat Gods time.

S – STANDARDS

Set standards which have eternal value.

Colossians 3:2                                                                                                                                                   Set your Mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

2 Corinthians 4:18

So we fix our Eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

E – ESPECIALLY

As believers in Jesus Christ

1 John 2:17

The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever

T – TODAY

As it is called today!

Matthew 24:42 “So keep on watching, because you don’t know on what day your Lord is coming.

CONCLUSION

Ephesians 5:15-21 TPT

15–16 So be very careful how you live, not being like those with no understanding, but live honorably with true wisdom, for we are living in evil times. Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for his purposes. 17 And don’t live foolishly for then you will have discernment to fully understand God’s will. 18 And don’t get drunk with wine, which is rebellion; instead be filled continually with the Holy Spirit.

19 And your hearts will overflow with a joyful song to the Lord. Keep speaking to each other with words of Scripture, singing the Psalms with praises and spontaneous songs given by the Spirit!20 Always give thanks to Father God for every person he brings into your life in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.21 And out of your reverence for Christ be supportive of each other in love.
