A SURE WAY TO HEAVEN – 11.7&11.14.2021

A SURE WAY TO HEAVEN

We are in the final stretch of the race, how to make it for sure to heaven.
1. DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS
If you do not have a relationship with God, consider one with Him.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Psalm 145:9 The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.

2. SELF CHECK – WHAT IS MY RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS?
What does it mean to have relationship with JESUS?

2 Corinthians 13:5NCV 5 Look closely at yourselves. Test yourselves to see if you are living in the faith. You know that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you fail the test.
In other words, the living bible is saying it this way….
2 Corinthians 13:5 LB
5 Check up on yourselves. Are you really a Christian? Do you pass the test? Do you feel Christ’s presence and power more and more within you? Or are you just pretending to be Christians when actually you aren’t at all?

What is a Personal Relationship with JESUS? A personal relationship with Jesus is just like a relationship with anyone else in your life.

It is fellowship, love, and trust between you and him.

It means to know him and to be known by him. It’s much more than just going to church or even reading our Bibles.

3. YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS NAVIGATES YOU THROUGH LIFE.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

4. IT REMINDS YOU THAT YOU BELONG.
1 John 4:13 And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us
Leviticus 26:11-12 I will live among you, and I will not despise you. I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people.

5. A LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS GIVES YOU LIFE FULL OF POSSIBILITIES AND PROMISES.
Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”
Romans 5:18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone
Romans 4:13 Clearly, God’s promise to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants was based not on his obedience to God’s law, but on a right relationship with God that comes by faith.

6. IT MAKES YOU STRONGER.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
It keeps you on the straight and narrow.

2 John 1:9 Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son.
Luke 12:21 Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.
1 John 1:6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.
It reassures you of unconditional love and intimacy.

7. DO NOT FORSAKE THE ASSEMBLY
Hebrews 10:24-26 Living Bible
24 In response to all he has done for us, let us outdo each other in being helpful and kind to each other and in doing good.
25 Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.
26 If anyone sins deliberately by rejecting the Savior after knowing the truth of forgiveness, this sin is not covered by Christ’s death; there is no way to get rid of it.
Or like it says in …….NLT
Hebrews 10:24-26 New Living Translation
24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins.

8. THROW OFF EVERYTHING THAT SO EASILY ENTANGLES
Hebrews 12:1-2 Living Bible 1Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.
NASB 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

CONCLUSION
Romans 8: 38-39 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, 8:38 Greek nor rulers. neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

All in all,
A relationship with God is not like our other relationships. With God on YOUR team, and experiences in life can change for the better.
Not to say that you won’t deal with suffering or hard times, but it will help you get through them with the assurance that God will be with you.
I will never leaving or forsaking.
Deuteronomy 31:8 New Living Translation
8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
