The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit – 11/01/2020

The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit

Nov. 1st, 2020

Not only does the Bible tell us that these 9 gifts of the Spirit are available to all believers, but then it takes it one step further and tells us that we can actually try and stir these 9 gifts up with the Lord.

Here are 5 very good verses telling us to not only desire spiritual gifts, but to also not be afraid to try and stir these gifts up with the Lord:

  1. “Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy.” (1 Corinthians 14:39)
  2. “… and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.” (1 Corinthians 14:1)
  3. Do not quench the Spirit, do not despise prophecies.” (1 Thessalonians 5:19)
  4. Do not neglect the gift that is in you… Meditate on these things, give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.” (1 Timothy 4:14)
  5. “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of Godwhich is in you through the laying on of my hands.” (2 Timothy 1:6)

Every believer should go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to release these 9 gifts through them anytime that He will want to do so.

Let God know that you will be a willing vessel for the manifestations of these gifts, and that you will give Him yourself fully to Him and that He

Can use you to manifest these gifts though you at anytime that He will want to do so.

These 9 gifts are a tremendous help and aid to not only you in your own personal walk with the Lord, but many of them can be also used to help other people out as special needs and circumstances arise in their lives.

Notice the very first line in this verse says that these 9 gifts are given to each one for the “profit of all.”

The purpose of the spiritual gifts is to edify (build up), exhort (encourage), and comfort the church.

It is generally acknowledged that Paul did not list all of the gifts of the Spirit, and many believe that there are as many gifts as there are needs in the body of Christ.

“The Nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit.” These are supernatural gifts and, according to scripture, are available to all Christians.

The Apostle Paul said: “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:

(1 Corinthians 12:7-11) “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the 1.WORD OF WISDOM through the Spirit, to another the 2. WORD OF KNOWLEDGE through the same Spirit, to another 3.FAITH by the same Spirit, to another 4. Gifts Of Healings by the same Spirit, to another the 5. WORKING OF MIRACLES, to another 6. PROPHECY, to another     7. DISCERNING OF SPIRITS, to another 8. DIFFERENT KINDS OF TONGUES, to another the 9. INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”

The Nine Gifts of the Spirit Fall into three Divisions:  The Gifts of Revelation – The Gifts of Inspiration – The Gifts of Power.

Gifts of Revelation:
The reason why they are called revelation gifts is because each one of these gifts, reveal something. The gifts that fall into this category are……….

1The Word of Wisdom:
A supernatural revelation, or insight into the divine will and purpose, often given by the Spirit to solve perplexing problems and situations.

Pertains to information concerning the future, whether of people, places, or things

2-The Word of Knowledge:

The Word of Knowledge is a supernatural revelation of Divine knowledge or insight in the Divine mind, will or plan, to know things that could not be known of oneself.

Pertains to information concerning the past or present, relative of people, places, or things

3-Discerning of Spirits: Discernment can describe the process of determining God‘s desire in a situation or for one’s life or identifying the true nature of a thing, such as discerning whether a thing is good, evil, or may even transcend the limiting notion of duality.

This is a supernatural revelation or insight into the realm of spirits to detect their presence and plans. (How to check a spirit….

BTW….1 John 4:1-6 ESV (Test the Spirits)

4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

Gifts of Inspiration:

4-Prophecy:
Prophecy is the supernatural utterance in the native tongue. It is a miracle of divine utterance, not conceived by human thought or reasoning. It includes speaking unto men to edification, exhortation, and comfort.

5Speaking in Tongues:
The supernatural utterance in other languages that are not known to the speaker.  Speaking in Tongues a gift of the Holy Spirit?

Speaking in tongues is a spiritual gift that can be manifested as either a human language or a heavenly supernatural language.

The “sign of tonguesis speaking a language they have never learned.

6-The Interpretation of Tongues:
The supernatural ability to interpret in the native tongue what is uttered in other languages not known by the one who interprets by the Spirit.Gifts of Power:

7Gift of Faith:
This is a supernatural ability to believe God without human doubt, unbelief, and reasoning’s.

8The Gift of Healing:
The healing of all manner of sickness by supernatural power, without human aid or medicine.

9The Working of Miracles:
Is supernatural power to intervene in the ordinary course of nature and to counteract natural laws if necessary. Conclusion:

According to Scripture, the Gifts of the Spirit are to continue to work through the Followers of Christ until His return.
