GOD’S CHOSEN ONES – YOU’RE IT

Ewoc 0 1.9.2022

“[In His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ, before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy…”

TODAY YOUR WORK BEGINS FOR YOU HAVE BEEN APPOINTED….

1. TODAY YOUR WORK BEGINS

Jeremiah 1:10

Living Bible

10 Today your work begins, to warn the nations and the kingdoms of the world. In accord with my words spoken through your mouth I will tear down some and destroy them, and plant others, nurture them, and make them strong and great.”

2. DON’T TAKE THE TASK LIGHTLY

Be excited:  You have been handpicked by God out of 7 Billion people to tell people all the good things of God!

Before you were ever born, before the very foundation of the earth, God knew you, planned for you and chose you!

He approved you and called you His own.

3. WHAT YOU WILL ENCOUNTER

Not everybody is ready for this, ready to see and hear and act. – ARE YOU?

Romans 10:13-15

New Living Translation

13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

(The Greek word implies their arrival comes at just the right time.)

We are told to proclaim the wonderful news—not the bad news that brings despair and fear but the good news of Jesus Christ.

Mark 1:17

17 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”

Matthew 4:19

Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Luke 5:4-11 NLT

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.”

“Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.

When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, “Oh, Lord, please leave me—I’m such a sinful man.” For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught, as were the others with him. 10 His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed.

Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!” 11 And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus.

Mark 16:15-20 NLT

15 And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. 17 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”

19 When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 20 And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.
